How to Read Your Daily Oracle title

First things first.

Oracle cards aren’t about letting the universe decide for you. It doesn’t have to be something external telling you what’s right, wrong, true or untrue.

I like to view oracles as something you give meaning.

Got it? Great!

Now, it helps to have a deck.

Your oracle doesn’t have to be a truthbomb deck.

It could be stones. Flowers. Runes. Tarot or any other cards. Heck, you can even use playing cards as an oracle. Google it up.

For the sake of this tutorial, I’ll be talking about card-style oracles.

Set the scene.

Clean up the space where you’ll be doing your reading.

Yes, this is what my kitchen island looks like some mornings. Cuz…LIFE.

Remove the clutter, and lay down a pretty cloth, if ya like.

This is where I read my oracle every morning. Formica countertop and all.

Burn some incense or sage.

(Optional, but awesome.)

Take some nice slow breaths. Notice how you feel.

What would you like to know from your oracle?

Do you have a specific question? Or is it a more of a what-should-I-know-today feeling?

When you’re ready, take out your deck, intention still in mind. Be reverent. Be grateful.

Gratitude helps. Always.

You might shuffle your deck, you might just grab the first card. I like to run my fingers over the deck and then pull the card that feels right. Sometimes it’s as though the card jumps out at you.

If you choose to shuffle, and you’re an awful shuffler like me, this can literally happen.

Have a look, and interpret your card.

Some oracles come with a book that will help you glean meaning from the cards. Truthbombs are up to your own interpretation.

Take another few slow breaths. Again, notice how you feel.

Often, a card hits you in the feels. The goodfeels. Like it’s just what you needed today.

Sometimes…not so much. It doesn’t feel so good.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Sometimes the card doesn’t make a lick of sense.

Pull another one. What do those two cards have to say, when read together?

Still nothing? Doesn’t resonate? You can always put it back and choose another. First, ask yourself why.

Is it because it’s ACTUALLY hitting too close to home, and it’s making you uncomfortable? Or is it really just not right for you right now? If it’s the latter, choose another one.

It’s an oracle reading, not a lifechange. You can mulligan. Do-overs aren’t just allowed, sometimes they’re downright necessary. As long as you take a moment and honor the truth of it.

Do-over? Or accept it?

How to Use Your Oracle:

  • Use it as a writing prompt.
  • Journal on it.
  • Write it in your planner.
  • Screenshot and make it your phone wallpaper.
  • Ignore it.

Yes, ignoring it IS a viable option. It’s your life. Oracle not working today? No big deal. Try again tomorrow.

I’m not telling you this because I think you should ignore the signs. Quite the opposite.

Our lives are full of deep meaning. You get to choose your own.
