…is a great mixtape.
My hubby and I used to do the whole mixtape thing. You know, where you’d take a blank cassette tape (remember them?) and record all your favorite luuuuuuve songs on it for the boy or girl you wanted to impress. It could take hours to make one freaking tape. And then you’d work up the courage to give it to them, bare your soul, and make them want to love you foreeeevvvvveeerrrrr.
Maybe that was just me.
But wasn’t there a Jack Black movie that went way way way into the science of the mixtape?
After cassette tapes it was CDs. Went a little quicker, but still took a lot of thought.
Now it’s as easy as creating a playlist on iTunes or Spotify.
While we don’t make as many loveydovey playlists as we used to, we do use music as a motivator. I love to play music when I’m cleaning, cooking or working up a sweat in the garden.
I made this playlist a little while ago (okay, a long while ago) but thought you might enjoy it. I’ve been needing some motivation lately, so I’ve taken to plugging my laptop or iPhone into the speakers, and cranking this playlist. I get my list done, and dancing scares the crankies away.
So without further ado, I give you Mixtape: Upbeat Moving Crap.
Yeah, the title, it’s not great. it’s the title we gave to an older edition of the playlist, and it just…stuck. You know how it goes.
Oh, and if you don’t like songs with salty language, you’d better skip this one.
Otherwise, feel free to share away.
