As it gets cooler in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re looking for things to sip that make our bellies warm and happy.
Enter: Holly’s 3 Ingredient Hot Cocoa.
Three.
That’s it.
Coconut milk gives this a creamy texture that folks who don’t do dairy often miss.
Dutch Cocoa Powder is rich in iron, magnesium, zinc and manganese.
Local Honey is a great natural sweetener, and if it’s raw, it can be good for allergy season!
I don’t dig things super sweet, so mine is usually two ingredient Hot Cocoa.
Mmmmm hot cocoooooaaaaaa.
Ingredients
Organic Coconut Milk (I buy So Delicious Unsweetened by the carton)
Frontier Organic and Fair Trade Dutch Cocoa Powder (I buy it in bulk from our co-op)
a dab of local honey (if my sweet tooth is raging)
Heat about a cup of Coconut milk over medium low heat.
Stir in a tablespoon at a time of Cocoa Powder. You get to decide how chocolatey it is!
Stir it up with a fork or a whisk.
Stir some more.
Stir until you can’t stir no more.
Once it’s all goodnmixed, add honey, if desired. I love me some bittersweet chocolate, so I often go without.
Pour it!
And of course, you can always drop in a tipple.
Or if you’re in for a morning treat, add some cold-brewed coffee!
Options. All faaaaancy.
Cheers!
