everyone poops

Money. Power. Fame.

That’s enough to make anyone happy forever, right?

Wrong.

As it turns out, famous people have shit to deal with. Literally and figuratively.

Just like you.

Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars and Frozen fame has dealt with crippling anxiety and depression.

Chris Evans has been very open about his issues with anxiety. That’s right, Captain Freaking America has had that same issue with notgoodenoughness, and with worries and fears and outright panic.

What’s different? They asked for help.

There’s no right or wrong way to ask.

It’s okay that you worry, that you fret, that you think you’re crazy.

It’s really okay.

Chances are, you’re no more crazy than anyone else on this planet.

All those guys that look like they got their poop in a group? Sometimes, when no one can see them, they uglycry over stupid shit. Because they burnt the oatmeal. Because it was the last oatmeal, they were running late, and LIFE IS TOO HARD.

J-Law is a perfect example.

I look at Jennifer Lawrence and would have never ever thought she has social anxiety. She seems so at ease, saying what’s on her mind, flipping the bird, and being refreshingly candid in the media. She’s stumbled in gorgeous dresses, multiple times, and makes it no big deal. That’s grace.

Rather than pretending to be perfect, she brings transparency and humor to the red carpet. In interviews, she doesn’t beat around the bush: she says what she thinks. And while she herself admits that there is a public persona she adapts, I think it’s a brutally honest one.

Truth is, we all have shit we are dealing with. We all have days where we do NOT have it together.

Warren Buffet has worried about his financial decisions.

Mother Theresa questioned her faith.

We all fight this internal I’mnotgoodenough battle. It helps to have tools that will help you guard your tender heart.

I use magic, good food, a badass therapist, and a few trusted advisors to rely on.

And it aint always easy.

I have days where it’s all i can do to drag my ass outta bed. The itty bitty shitty committee cranks it up to a dull ROAR.

Sound familiar?

You don’t have to do it alone.

You DO have to own your shit, sometimes.

You have to see that it ain’t easy right now, and you’re ready for things to change.

It’s time to stop comparing your insides with everyone else’s outsides and start being a wee bit nicer to yourself.

From Jennifer Lawrence to the gal in the car next to you, we all have our shit to deal with.

It’s time to start honoring the light that exists in you. It’s there, right alongside the fears, the worries, the stuff that keeps your mind spinning. That light is there.

And it’s time to let it shine.
